Between May and June this year VVSG and Design Flanders ran a series of eight intensive workshops with public sector staff from six cities and municipalities, one inter-municipal cooperation and the Flemish Government.
In each workshop participants worked on a design challenge that was relevant to their organisation. The question that was posed was “How can we build our digital services in an efficient and user centered way?”
This training resulted in in the development of 100 screen-maps and a manual that describes the service design process. These outputs have helped participants describe and redesign their working process so that they can communicate with IT-service providers in a much clearer way.
At the end of the training participants not only developed useful solutions that fit with their organisation, but also learned in a practical way about service design methodologies.
